It's a Girl!
Champlain/Dia being evaluated by a judge
At long last today I heard which pup would be mine. It is one of the five females in the litter of nine and was previously named Champlain. As I explained a couple of posts ago, her new name will be Dia and this is her picture as she was being evaluated by the breed judge.
Dia has a wedge of blue in one of her brown eyes which disqualifies her from the Chinook show ring, which is why when my brother said "She's a winner!" I said, "No, she's a loser." Her blue wedge makes her "pet quality," and thus she comes to me--someone way too lazy to keep up with showing or breeding a dog.
So the imperfect dog joins the imperfect woman to perfect each other--or at least to move in that direction as John Wesley and my ordination vows direct.
The nursery is ready with crate and toys and blankets and treats and a collar that I hope is the right size. Veni Dia! Okay, so I've mixed my languages. Sue me.
